Threshold for Spam Detection

Threshold for Spam Detection

Sets the value of the spam threshold. If a mail receives enough spam score points to exceed this threshold, it will be considered as spam. The default value is 50.

If you notice, that still spam mail messages are not marked or moved from your inbox, then you may decrease this value. But be careful with decreasing the spam threshold value because the chance that some desired mail messages are marked or moved like spam increases too.

In some cases, this default value of 50 is already too low and some good mail messages are scored as spam. In these cases just increase the threshold value.

Behavior on Spam Detection

Mark Spam with text in subject

Here you can select if your spam should be marked (default) by any specified text that will be added at the beginning of the mail messages' subject.

Move to folder

Spam will be moved to the defined Spam folder. (But there will be no marking in the subject). If you don't specify a Spam folder, the default spam folder of Outlook will be used.

Add spam score to subject

Adds the spam score to the subject.

Mark spam as read

Marks the spam mail as read.

The default spam folder in Outlook 2003  is the "junk-mail" folder, or -if this doesn't exist (like in older Office versions)- the folder of "deleted items".
