You can create a new sensor by selecting one in of the available sensors in the main menu.

A configuration dialog appears that allows to intuitively configure the data endpoint to be checked. Furthermore, you can specify several options relevant to the operation of the specific protocol that will be checked.
Actually, to configure the HTTP sensor that we create here, you just have to enter the URL, e.g. "http://www.example.com" and the sensor is already configured for collection of statistical data.

By clicking the "Test Sensor" link, it is possible to check the configuration for accuracy. A window opens after the test, displaying the entire collected information.

You are now already familiar with the basic operation of ServerSentinel! As you can see in the sensor editing dialog, a default condition is already provided with the HTTP sensor. Please read the next chapter to find out how conditions are configured and how a particular action for failure notification is applied if a condition happens to be true after a sensor has been checked.
