Notification by E-Mail

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

After you've created a condition ("from left to right") select "Define new action..." to create a notification action:

action_define_new

The next dialog helps to select the appropriate activity that will be executed if the condition matches:

action_create_dialog

After selecting the specific action from the list above, you will be prompted to configure the action:
In case of an email action you must specify at least one recipient in the "Recipients" field and you may also have to alter the SMTP server to be used.

action_edit_dialog

You may freely test the action with the "Test Action" button in the lower right corner of the configuration window. It is good practice to give your defined actions meaningful names so that they can be easily found again.

The values embraced by the '%' symbol are placeholders for data that has been collected by the sensor. Please refer to the particular help section of the different sensor in "Configurable Sensors" chapter.

The "%SensorData%" value will fill in all collected data in the message template.

The action shown above, with its default template, produces a message similar to the one below which is suitable for all of the common sensors. It will contain all of the collected information.
