After the installation UltraSearch can be started using the Windows Start menu or the the desktop icon. We will now explain the most important elements of the UltraSearch main window:
| 1. | The search pattern input field lets the user specify a search pattern. You can use the wildcards "*" or "?". Absolute paths are allowed. You can use double quotes for exact matching. |
| 2. | In the search result list all search results for the specified pattern are listed. It provides information like name, path, size, date values, file type and attributes. Perform a right click on the column header to choose which columns are displayed. |
| 3. | The drives panel provides an overview of all local and removable NTFS drives. All checked drives are used for a search. |
| 4. | The status bar informs the user about the number search results, indicates if a filter is active and displays hint texts. |
