Readonly mode

Question / Problem

Is there a quick way to start TreeSize as a user with full admin rights but in read only / export mode. We need to pull the permissions from our AD, but would like to have the reassurance that nothing can be moved by accident.

Answer / Solution

You can use the command line switches (Professional Edition only) /RESTRICTED and /READONLY to do this. Sample:
TreeSize.exe /RESTRICTED /READONLY

The user of TreeSize will then not have access to Explorer context menu, may not rename or delete files or folders and the buttons for the Software applet and to connect a network drive are not available in the ribbon bar.
