Question / Problem

The 64bit version of TreeSize Professional crashes immediately after start after installing Windows 10 Update KB4019472.

Answer / Solution

This issue was introduced with update KB4019472 for Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update) and Windows Server 2016 and KB4016871 for Windows 10 Version 1703 (Creators Update). Please note, that newer cumulative updates would also contain this update.

Please note that this would affect all newer versions of Windows since 1709 (Creators Fall Update) as well.

The error only occurs with the 64bit version of TreeSize, not affected is the 32bit version of TreeSize.

Since V6.3.6 TreeSize is compatible with Windows 10 and Server 2016 with update KB4019472. Customer with valid maintenance can get download the latest version of TreeSize, which is compatible with Windows 10 in your customer area at: https://www.jam-software.com/customers/

Do not install Windows 10 Update KB4019472 if you intend to use an older version of TreeSize.
