With the shutdown and Wake on LAN actions you can easily shutdown or boot any computer or server in your network, or activate power save mode. The actions can be triggered by any sensor and offer a wide range of options.
A server room is monitored via ServerSentinel. To make sure that the server does not overheat, the temperature sensor monitors the server room. If, for example, the air conditioner malfunctions or the heat rises to levels the air conditioning system cannot compensate, ServerSentinel warns the administrator via text message. If temperatures continue to climb, the shutdown action is triggered and the server is shut down safely. Once the temperature in the server room sinks back to safe levels, the servers are booted up again through Wake on LAN actions and the administrator is informed.
