With the XML sensor you can easily read the content of XML files. No parsing is used, instead ServerSentinel navigates the document's tree structure.
Via XPath you can
- navigate within the document
- count values in the document
- read values
The temporary log of a process is written to an XML file. In addition to general information, errors and warnings are logged. The log is overwritten each day. The administrator wants to be informed if too many errors or warnings occur and uses an XML sensor to count the messages. If a certain threshold is crossed, ServerSentinel sends a warning via email.
