Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a trial version available for TreeSize?
Yes, we offer a 14-day free trial of TreeSize Professional. You can download it without registration from here.
How does remote access work?
- Sitewide License: Covers one city only. Remote use from outside that city is not permitted.
- Countrywide License: Allows remote access from anywhere within the licensed country.
- Worldwide License: No restrictions – remote use is allowed globally.
At what team size is it advisable to switch from multiple single licenses to the sitewide license?
For teams of 25 or more, the Sitewide License offers an easy and cost-effective way to manage disk space across your office.
How about the Countrywide and Worldwide License?
In general, we recommend considering the Countrywide or Worldwide Licenses for organizations with 10,000 or more users.
In certain cases, it can make sense to acquire these licenses for just a few hundred users. Our sales team is happy to help you find the best license option for your organization.
Are subsidiary companies able to use TreeSize while they are within license range?
No. Sitewide and Companywide Licenses are valid only for the legal entity that purchased the license. Subsidiaries or other legal entities within the same corporate group must purchase their own licenses.
Exception: Fully-owned subsidiaries may use the license within the scope of the original license.
Are subcontractors allowed to use our licenses?
Yes, a single subcontractor may use the licenses under certain conditions. The subcontractor does not need to work exclusively for your company, but the license may only be used for projects related to your organization.
For example, this applies to outsourced IT providers working on your systems.
Standard license ranges still apply, e.g. a subcontractor using a Countrywide License must operate within the same country.
I’m a consultant working remotely with multiple clients. Which license is right for me?
For consultants and IT professionals who need to work across multiple devices and locations, the Consultant License is the ideal choice. Unlike other licenses, it is assigned per user, not per device, providing maximum flexibility. Learn more about the Consultant License here.
How are updates and support handled for TreeSize licenses?
